Please don't.

He did, and I just replied to the bug report (which I saw before this post)
with a reply that would've been far better dealt with on this list.

So let's repeat it here:

There are a lot of issues with 2.0 mod_proxy.  The recommended solution
is to upgrade to 2.2 or later.  Do you have a good reason to use 2.0?
