I only use mod_proxy for one virtualhost, this is my config:

<VirtualHost *:80>
        ServerName www.home.com
        ServerAdmin admin@home.com
        CustomLog logs/home-access.log combined
        ProxyRequests Off

        <Proxy *>
        Order deny,allow
        Deny from all
        </Proxy>

        ProxyPass / http://internalserver.home.com:80/
        ProxyPassReverse / http://internalserver.home.com:80/

        <Location />
        Order allow,deny
        Allow from all
        </Location>
</VirtualHost>
