Subject [users@httpd] How to change default Charset?

<font face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">I'm on CentOS 5 and like to
change default charset of 'ISO-8859-1' to </font><font
 face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">'UTF-8' Apache 2.2, so I updated
httpd.conf to have this line:</font><br>
<font face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">AddDefaultCharset UTF-8</font><br>
<font face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">Restarted Apache and open
default page in Firefox, which reports UTF-8 </font><font
 face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">as expected but running any perl
scripts and then checking reports </font><font
 face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">ISO-8859-1. Is there any other
settings needs to be changed to force all </font><font
 face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">contents have charset UTF-8?</font><br>
