Remember to use:
ProxyPassReverse /abc/ https://remoteserver:8443/abc/

.. so that any redirects sent by the origin server are rewritten to
use the frontend address.

You might also want to check the logs for the backend (origin) server
to see if it received the request and if it sent a redirect.
