Subject [users@httpd] authn_dbm problem
Date Sat, 14 Apr 2007 10:45:23 GMT
Hi, I keep getting the following error when trying to use dbm files for
authentication:

[Sat Apr 14 13:22:01 2007] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] (2)No such file or
directory: could not open dbm (type SDBM) auth file:
/opt/services/apache/htdocs/dbmpasswd

The htaccess is:

AuthType basic
AuthName "private area"
AuthBasicProvider dbm
AuthDBMType SDBM
AuthzDBMType SDBM # optional
AuthDBMUserFile /opt/services/apache/htdocs/dbmpasswd
AuthDBMGroupFile /opt/services/apache/htdocs/dbmpasswd # optional
Require valid-user # or: Require group localgroup

also tried with:
AuthName "Members Area"
AuthType digest
AuthDigestDomain /
AuthDigestProvider dbm
AuthDBMType SDBM
AuthUserFile /opt/services/apache/htdocs/dbmpasswd
Require valid-user # or: Require group testgroup

Created the dbm with
# dbmmanage -s /opt/services/apache/htdocs/dbmpasswd adduser login
# dbmmanage -s /opt/services/apache/htdocs/dbmpasswd adduser login pass
testgroup
# dbmmanage -m /opt/services/apache/htdocs/dbmpasswd adduser login
# dbmmanage -m /opt/services/apache/htdocs/dbmpasswd adduser login pass
testgroup

To be sure i set the dbmfiles permissions to 777 and ownership to the
apache user.

nothing worked. Anyone any clues please?
TIA, Pavel
