Subject [users@httpd] mod_rewrite rewriting URLs with an additional "/" at the end? (www->non www)
Date Mon, 07 Aug 2006 14:30:03 GMT

I'm trying to use mod_rewrite to redirect any "" ->
"". I've set up the following rule:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.domain\.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$$1 [R=301,L]

This works fine, but whenever I try to go to "", I am
taken to: "" with _two_ slashes instead of one. Does anyone
have a clue why this is happening?

It also happens when I append anything after it, ie: -> ->
