I have know testet it with:

  RewriteEngine on
  RewriteOptions inherit

  RewriteCond %{LA-U:REMOTE_USER} =""
  RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} .*auth=require.*
  RewriteRule ^.+$ - [L,F]

in VirtualHost-Contex but i loose the user after the
[INTERNAL REDIRECT].
