have a public IP address on its external side and your server will have an internal address
(eg, 192.168.0.100). The modem will act like a router and route packets for the external addr
to the internal addr.

I connect to the internet via a ADSL modem that is also a router. My 
public IP address is "141.157.123.182" and my domain name is 
"myanel.servebeer.com", this is thru No-Ip DNS service. Thanks!
