Depends what you mean by "helpful" - I didn't tell the guy how to do =
what he wants to do, but that's because he wants to do something =
impossible. If it stops him from wasting his time on a wild goose chase, =
then maybe it was helpful.

Er - I am a web admin on a busy commercial site. We too are plagued by =
bots who ignore robots.txt and make repeated requests to dynamic pages. =
It's a constant struggle to keep ahead of them. We use a variety of =
strategies (honeytraps, user agent, cookies, behavioural heuristics). If =
you want to broaden the discussion to swap ideas, that's fine but I have =
to go now - I have to calculate how many angels you can get on the head =
of a pin...
