The form checking is done in the register_action.php. It is this which
generates the pop-up. So it is here you need to look to see what is
wrong. Some questions:

- what is the URL that the pop-up is supposed to request?
- can you load that page in a browser?
- what do you get in the access/error log, if not?
- can you check that the PHP is really returning the correct URL? (try
making the PHP write the URL also to a logfile so you can check it - eg,
if you print to STDERR, it'll end up in the apache error_log).
