Sounds a bit strange to me:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;155738
says: it's most probably due to the program
(in this case: Apache), and "Errors are more 
likely to occur on multiprocessor computers.",
BUT: We here are using the same Apache version
as you do (2.0.52) on a Win2003s multiprocessor
machine, without ever having had your problem.

Were there any recent changes you made either
to the OS or to the Apache configuration 
before the error turned up?
