Take a look at:

 http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/vhosts/mass.html

Basically, it allows you to have 'dynamically' created virtual hosts by
passing in the host and/or IP into a virtual document root and script alias.
This really only works if you have a lot of virtual hosts with the same
setup (read: simple config).
