Subject [users@httpd] What are "Search" requests in access.log
Date Thu, 10 Feb 2005 09:25:58 GMT

Hello

On my apache server 2.0.46, I can see in the access log file the following
line :

282.77.142.144 - - [10/Feb/2005:00:51:35 +0100] "SEARCH
/\x90\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1

and in the error_log file, the message :

[Thu Feb 10 00:51:35 2005] [error] [client 282.77.142.144] request failed: URI
too long (longer than 8190)

Do you know the meaning of this request ? and what influence it has on the
web server ?

thanks for your answers
