The actual response at the HTTP layer is 404 not found (caused by the failed attmept to find your ErrorDocument). Either put an error doc where you said you would (see ErrorDocument in your config) or remove the directive. Then it will work - guaranteed. For your information, this is what I get from the command-line: GET http://tor-bay.co.uk/admin/ HTTP/1.0 HTTP/1.0 404 Not Found DeleGate-Ver: 8.9.3 (delay=1) Date: Tue, 18 Jan 2005 15:15:04 GMT Server: Apache/2.0.40 (Red Hat Linux) WWW-Authenticate: Basic realm="Password Protected Area" Content-Length: 645 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 Via: 1.1 - (DeleGate/8.9.3) X-Cache: MISS from gate0a Proxy-Connection: close 401 Authorization Required

Authorization Required

This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
