Plain text please...

- Need error message on command-line
- Need content of error log (just relative to the restart - not the whole file!)

"won't start" is not much use.... My car won't start. What's wrong?

Rgds,
Owen Boyle

Subject: [users@httpd] No http just HTTPs

Hello, I'm in certain way a newbbie to adavanced apache
configuration,
and we have an apache 1.3 server here but it was configured to only
accept https connections.
I want to configure it back to accept both https AND http
connections,
but it seems to be impossible.

I tryed all /etc/httpd/conf files but I found no single clue
of what may
be causing this...

It's configured to be like this. You have to configure it back.
Basically,

- switch back on "Listen 80" (that get's you back on the HTTP
wavelength)
- Set up a VirtualHost on port 80 eg,

Listen 80
<VirtualHost *:80>
  DocumentRoot /path/to/your/plain/HTTP/site
  <Directory /path/to/your/plain/HTTP/site>
    Allow from all
  </Directory>
</VirtualHost>

Now http://your-server/ will serve up
/path/to/your/plain/HTTP/site/index.html

I guess all your SSL stuff is in the included configs:

Include  conf/ssl/mod_ssl.conf
Include  conf/ssl/ssl.default-vhost.conf

Have a look in them, if you want to edit the SSL response.

I read all the faqs I was able to find, and the documentation but I
still wasn't able to find a clue of this.

I do need it working and I can't. (I tryied copying the files
from the
RPM but it caused the server to stop working).

I attach both httpd.conf and commonhttpd.conf...

ANY HELP WOULD BE MORE THAN APPRECIATED. I KNOW THIS MAY BE
STUPID, BUT,
SINCE I DON'T KNOW :(

Regards,

/m@cs
