I tried this:

AliasMatch ^/b2evo/blog/(.+)
Alias /b2evo /var/www/html/b2evo # for all the
stylesheets, images, etc.

And index.php still isn't picking up the $1 var.
phpinfo() shows:

SCRIPT_FILENAME 	/var/www/html/b2evo/index.php
QUERY_STRING 	no value
REQUEST_URI 	/b2evo/blog/blogname
SCRIPT_NAME 	/b2evo/blog
PATH_INFO 	/blogname
PATH_TRANSLATED 	/var/www/html/mydomain/blogname

I'm not sure what to make of that (PATH_INFO  and
PATH_TRANSLATED - directory "blogname" doesn't exist.
The "/blogname" part of the URL should be passed to
index.php which it splits to get query vars).
