Something like:

RewriteRule ^/reports /webstats/awstats.pl [R]

but awstats require a config file in the query string...

so perhaps...

RewriteRule ^/reports /webstats/awstats.pl?config=%{HTTP_HOST}

assuming the http host matches up with the config file...
