Yes,

I spent all of Friday getting Rewriting working on my local machine so that
I can quickly test anything but the flushing to the log seems only to be
done every 15 minutes or so!  So testing ad hoc queries is not so painless
as I would have liked. But at least I do know that rewriting is working
generally and I can test any given query and see the translation in the log.
