While these delays aren't terribly slow, the bandwidth that I was able to download your site was at an average of 6 KB/s. The maximum that it spiked was 24 KB/s. I'm sitting on a 3Mb/s (375KB/s) connection to the Internet. So the bottleneck is somewhere along the way, and I believe that it would be at or near the hop where it crosses the Atlantic (notice that hop 13 to 14 hits the telecomitalia gateway). If this is the case, then there is nothing you can do about the speed in the US. It's just one of those things that we have to live with until they run more line across the ocean.
