Thanks a bunch Josh.

I was busy till now I am reply to your message a bit late.

Yes I am able to view gif if I copy it under HTTP context root. But if that
is true it look like they might  not have coded properly as shown below. But
even that is also not true as I able to work with old version of HTTP 1.3.26
without any issues with the script shown below!!!!! 
Hum!!!! Puzzling me a lot.

Am I missing out something?

Log messages?  (error and access)

Can you view the gif if you request it directly (not as part of the html
page)?
