Thanks for you response on this.  I understand a little better now.
Do you know of any simple steps to make php3 scripts work on an apache config installed by
RPM supporting PHP4?

>From what I can tell PHP4 is backwards compatible according to the php.net site.

This directory holds module-specific configuration files; any files in this
directory which have the ".conf" extension will be processed as Apache
configuration files.  If you look in httpd.conf for "conf.d" there's
probably an INCLUDE statement.
