Subject [users@httpd] Building Apache 1.3.33
Date Mon, 22 Nov 2004 23:23:51 GMT
All,

I'm attempting to build version 1.3.33, downloaded from the Apache site.

I'm running on a Sun Sunblade 150, Solaris 9 Sparc platform.

SunOS development 5.9 Generic_112233-11 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Blade-100

The compiler I'm using is as follows:

 gcc -v
Reading specs from /usr/local/lib/gcc/sparc-sun-solaris2.9/3.4.2/specs
Configured with: ../configure --with-as=/usr/ccs/bin/as
--with-ld=/usr/ccs/bin/ld --disable-nls --disable-libgcj
--enable-languages=c,c+ : (reconfigured) ../configure
--with-as=/usr/ccs/bin/as --with-ld=/usr/ccs/bin/ld --disable-nls
--disable-libgcj --enable-languages=c,c++
Thread model: posix
gcc version 3.4.2

The following is the output of make when I attempt to compile:
$ make
===> src
===> src/os/unix
<=== src/os/unix
===> src/ap
<=== src/ap
===> src/main
gcc -c  -I../os/unix -I../include   -DSOLARIS2=290 -DNO_DL_NEEDED

When you start talking about pointers in header files in a released
package it appears to me that the compiler I'm using is not compatible
with the header files I have. Like the header files aren't compatible
with new C datatypes or definitions.

Is 1.3.33 compatible with gcc 3.4.2?

Has anyone else had this problem?

Don't know where to go from here.

Thanks

Mike
