Subject Re: [users@httpd] why NOT add compress feature into apache?
Date Sun, 10 Oct 2004 00:32:42 GMT
Hi, Nick:

Does Apache support dynamic compression based on HTTP request, such as browser IE may support
zip and Netscape may ask for winZar, for the same web pages? Why majority web servers do
NOT support this?

regards,

Larry

Apache 2 has always had it. Apache 1.x has had it even longer, though
only through a third-party module and limited to static files.
