Where are you getting these ideas from? 

- you only need one NameVirtualHost per IP (not even if you use
"NameVirtualHost *")
- you shouldn't use domain names with NameVirtualHost  or VH.

NB - see the other post on this thread for his real problem...

No. Put the IP address here, not the domain name. Then put the domain
name after "ServerName" - see
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/vhosts/name-based.html for details.

This is completely unnecessary and not much use on the public internet.
