Subject Re: [users@httpd] Unable to configure apache
Date Wed, 18 Aug 2004 13:44:52 GMT
Things are working thanks to u.
I still have one doubt and this is weird.
I have this configuration
1. /etc/hosts
210.210.122.132         www.msgeng.com
210.210.122.132         www.def.com
210.210.122.132         www.ghg.com

2. in httpd.conf
  <VirtualHost *:80>
     ServerAdmin webmaster@def.com
     DocumentRoot /usr/local/apache/htdocs/def
     ServerName www.def.com
     ErrorLog logs/def.com-error_log
     CustomLog logs/def.com-access_log common
</VirtualHost>
<VirtualHost *:80>
     ServerAdmin webmaster@ghg.com
     DocumentRoot /usr/local/apache/htdocs/ghg
     ServerName www.ghg.com
     ErrorLog logs/ghg.com-error_log
     CustomLog logs/ghg.com-access_log common
</VirtualHost>
<VirtualHost *:80>
     ServerAdmin webmaster@msgeng.com
     DocumentRoot /usr/local/apache/htdocs/msgeng
     ServerName www.msgeng.com
     ErrorLog logs/msgeng.com-error_log
     CustomLog logs/msgeng.com-access_log common
</VirtualHost>

This may sound too stupid
1. In the browser i am able to open the web page with both URL www.def.com
and def.com
When the Url is www.msgeng.com it works but when the url is msgeng.com it
doesnt. Y is this difference
2. For the other sites i am able to open the sites with or without the www
irrespective of the fact tat www is absent in hosts
I hope i conveyed wat i wanted to say
Thank u so much
