Hello Josh,

Did you run the Litmus WebDAV Compliance checker on your server? Sometimes
that is helpful in de-bugging. http://www.webdav.org/neon/litmus/

Is the directory that contains the WebDAV Lock DB, read/writeable by the
UID under which apache is running?

Subject
[users@httpd] mod_dav Input/Ouput error from client

Hi:

I searched back in the mail archive and did not find anyone with the
same issue I ran into.

I have a apache 2.0.48 server with mod_dav, mod_dav_fs, and mod_ldap.

Below is how I mounting to this server remotely:

$ modprobe davfs
$ mount -t davfs http://webdav.myserver.com/webdav /mnt/dav -o
username=USERNAME

it prompts me for a password, the file system gets mounted. I can head
over to /mnt/dav and see that there are some files and directories that
I had created on the web server. But I cannot access them. Below is what
happens:

[root@laptop root]# mount -t davfs http://webdav.mydomain.com/dav
/mnt/dav -o username=USERNAME
Authorization Required(401)
Connected WEB-DAV server http://webdav.mydomain.com/dav/ for user
USERNAME
Password:
[root@laptop root]# cd /mnt/dav
[root@laptop dav]# ls
stuff/  file.doc  new_folder/
[root@laptop dav]# cd stuff
bash: cd: stuff: Input/output error
[root@laptop dav]# ls
stuff/  file.doc  new_folder/
[root@laptop dav]# cd new_folder/
[root@laptop new_folder]# ls
ls: .: Stale NFS file handle
[root@laptop new_folder]# ls
ls: .: Stale NFS file handle
[root@laptop new_folder]# cd ..
[root@laptop dav]# rmdir new_folder/
rmdir: `new_folder/': Input/output error
[root@laptop dav]# cp file.doc stuff/
cp: accessing `stuff/': Input/output error
[root@laptop root]# umount /mnt/dav

here's the last 50 lines or so in access_log:

And here is the relevant section of my httpd2.conf:

LogLevel  debug
LoadModule dav_module           modules/mod_dav.so
LoadModule ldap_module          modules/mod_ldap.so
LoadModule dav_fs_module        modules/mod_dav_fs.so
<IfModule mod_dav_fs.c>
  DAVLockDB /var/lib/dav/lockdb
</IfModule>
<Directory "/var/www/html/dav">
  DAV on

  order allow,deny
  allow from all
  AuthName "My WebDAV Test"
  AuthType Basic
  AuthLDAPEnabled on
  AuthLDAPURL ldap://ldap.mydomain.com/dc=mydomain,dc=com
  AuthLDAPAuthoritative on
  require valid-user
</Directory>

Can anyone tell me where I could look to get more meaningful errors?
Could this be a bug with the davfs kernel module I am using? Or is this
purely a mis-configuration issue on the web server?
