Subject [users@httpd] Random backend with mod_rewrite
Date Thu, 01 Jul 2004 08:02:16 GMT
Hi,
I have 1 frontend server and 3 backend servers. The frontend runs
mod_rewrite, and redirecting .pl to backend. The conf looks like this:

## httpd.conf
RewriteMap server rnd:/usr/local/httpd_proxy/conf/server.txt
RewriteRule ^/(.*\.pl)$ http://${server:backend}:8080/$1 [P]

## server.txt
backend back01|back02|back03

Now the problem is, if one of the backend dies, the frontend will wait
for it forever. How do I set it on frontend, so it ignores died backend?

Thank you,
--bk
