Subject [users@httpd] Overriding Limit
Date Tue, 29 Jun 2004 06:33:42 GMT
I had hoped to override the statement in "httpd.conf":

---

<Directory /home/*/public_html>
     AllowOverride FileInfo AuthConfig Limit
     Options MultiViews Indexes SymLinksIfOwnerMatch ExecCGI
     <Limit GET POST OPTIONS PROPFIND>
         Order allow,deny
         Allow from all
     </Limit>
     <Limit PUT DELETE PATCH PROPPATCH MKCOL COPY MOVE LOCK UNLOCK>
         Order deny,allow
         Deny from all
     </Limit>
</Directory>

---

Using the statement in ".htaccess":

---

AuthPAM_Enabled on
AuthType Basic
AuthName "deg"
<LimitExcept GET HEAD OPTIONS>
         require valid-user
</LimitExcept>

---

But I'm unsuccessful: PUT is still denied, even after authentication.

Can someone please explain my mistake?

Thanks for you help!

Jack
