You could use the host file to do this.  Note that you will have to edit
the host file on each and every machine you have (and hope you remember
to change it later if you need to reconfigure your machine for some
reason).

Same hosts

C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc\hosts.
123.0.0.223		mytestdomainname.com www.mytestdomainname.com

If you have a couple machines at the office that you use to surf the net
I would recommend that you setup a machine with DNS for local caching.
If you did this you could also have it serve your intranet site as well.
This can be done on either Windows or Linux with relatively little
hardware.

We have setup a bunch of small offices with Linux File/DNS/Web/Mail
servers for almost nothing.  We used new Dell 2400's which cost us
around $430 per unit.
