I have never used mod_view (just learnt about its existance this morning!)
so I cannot say for sure.

Again, I suggest you find out what Content-Type Apache is sending; it is
crucial information in understanding why it doesn't work. You can do like I
suggested in a previous message. What application does IE want to open it
in?

Also do try other browsers than IE, particulary Firefox:
http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/
