Subject [users@httpd] httpd high memory usage
Date Mon, 07 Jun 2004 12:08:04 GMT
Hello All,

I m running :

Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 3 (Taroon Update 1) / Apache/1.3.29
(Unix)

The problem is that Apache consumes a huge amount of memory :

My Apache settings :

Timeout 300
KeepAlive On
MaxKeepAliveRequests 100
KeepAliveTimeout 15
MinSpareServers 5
MaxSpareServers 10
StartServers 5
MaxClients 150
MaxRequestsPerChild 0

#free -m
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 2016 1831 184 0 407 1043
-/+ buffers/cache: 379 1636
Swap: 2047 174 1873

When i restart httpd the memory usage drops down like hell, i have checked
the logs but were not able to get the cause.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Vishal.
