That's a lot of unneeded work. AWSTATS will parse IIS and Apache log files
(or any other log file format if you tell it what the format is (and it's
well documented so even that is easy)). A n00b can set it up in under 20
minutes and once you set a task to run however often you like you can have
up-to-date reports available via web browser or (I think) email. All you
need is Perl installed.
