Subject [users@httpd] 64-bit 1.3.29 fails to start on Solaris 8
Date Wed, 14 Apr 2004 09:53:56 GMT
i've built a 64-bit Apache v1.3.29 on Solaris 8 using gcc v3.2.2. the
compilation went fine but now i'm having problems starting the httpd.
here's the error message i get in error_log:

[Wed Apr 14 08:56:59 2004] [crit] (126)Cannot assign requested address:
make_sock: could not bind to address 255.255.255.255 port 2222

the configuration file should be ok because i'm using the exact same
configuration with 32-bit Apache. Apache has been configured to listen
on a specific interface and port (Listen foo.bar.int:2222).

here's how i configure Apache:
	CFLAGS="-mcpu=v9 -m64" ./configure

does anyone know what's going wrong?

best regards,
