Subject RE: [users@httpd] Strange SSL freakout
Date Thu, 15 Apr 2004 15:23:56 GMT
Ok, I determined the problem, and I'm oblivious. I created a backup of my
ssl.conf, but kept the extension .conf. In my http.conf I have include
/path/*.conf so it was including both the new ssl.conf as well as the
backup. Derrr...

I am soon going to be migrating my server to a new box. I've had the new box
up and running for some time. Apache with SSL. No problems.

So I want to use my existing CA cert so I don't have to pay for another. So
I copied the files over, repointed the ssl.conf to look at the certs and
restarted. It did not restart, so I rolled it back to the old ssl.conf
(which I had created a backup of). Then I restarted again, and got:

Stopping httpd: [FAILED]
Starting httpd: [Tue Apr 13 16:32:31 2004] [warn] module ssl_module is
already loaded, skipping
[Tue Apr 13 16:32:31 2004] [warn] _default_ VirtualHost overlap on port 443,
the first has precedence
(98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:443
no listening sockets available, shutting down
                                                           [FAILED]

I checked everything, and everything is exactly as it was before I messed
with anything. I'm VERY confused here. Anyone run into something like this?

httpd is down so I don't see how ssl_module could be loaded already.

Roger
