Subject Re: [users@httpd] Redirect without location change

I asked the same question here a while ago.
First you have to make sure you have the proxy module compiled into
your Apache server program. If you don't know please check whether
mod_proxy.c is part of the ``httpd -l'' output. If yes, this
functionality is available to mod_rewrite. If not, then you first have
to rebuild the ``httpd'' program with mod_proxy enabled.

Then write your rewrite rule as follows:

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/$
RewriteRule ^/$ http://www1.location.coml [L,P]

This assumes that the URL of your web server is http://www.location.com
hence the REQUEST_URI is simply ^/$

Folks,

I would like to know How I can achieve a redirect without having the
new
URL show up in the browser Location using the apache. So if a User
type in
the location www.location.com I would like to redirect him to
www1.location.com but I want the user to see www.location.com NOT
www1.location.com. This way I can prevent the user from bookmarking
the
location www1.location.com.

Regards,
