That is a garbage configuration.  It may work just by luck.  But it should
work exactly the same way if you remove the NameVirtualHost directive, so
you aren't proving anything here.

You can certainly have multiple NameVirtualHost directives.  What you
can't have is multiple SSL hosts on the same IP address and port.
