Subject [users@httpd] VHosts, ServerName, ServerAlias and DNS ?
Date Mon, 23 Feb 2004 12:57:47 GMT
List,

I have entered in DNS the following:

levittpavilionharrisburg.com
levittpavilionharrisburg.org

americanmusicfest.com

I have set up two vhosts to handle these entries:

<VirtualHost *>
	ServerName levittpavilionharrisburg.com
	ServerAlias *\.levittpavilionharrisburg\.???
	RedirectTemp / http://www.harrisburgpa.gov/
</VirtualHost>

<VirtualHost *>
	ServerName americanmusicfest.com
	ServerAlias www.americanmusicfest.com
	RedirectPermanent / http://www.americanmusicfest.org/
</VirtualHost>

My problem is that attempting to go to "www.[domainName].com" does not work.

Yet drop the leading "www" and it all works.

What am I doing wrong? Should I have registered in DNS the full server
name, e.g. "www.[domainName].(org|com)"?
