No!  Hopefully my last post makes it a little clearer.

You have two options, either create a .htaccess file:

c:\program files\apache group\apache2\htdocs\alex\.htaccess

containing:

Options Indexes

OR

create an entry in your httpd.conf file:

<Directory "c:\program files\apache group\apache2\htdocs\alex">
	Options Indexes
</Directory>

OR EVEN

<Location /alex>
	Options Indexes
</Location>

Be warned though, the last option using <Location> will apply to all
servers you host if you place it in the main part of your httpd.conf.
