Subject RE: [users@httpd] ProxyPass & IIS & User authentication
Date Thu, 15 Jan 2004 19:02:08 GMT
Hi !!

In my previuos e-mail I said that the authentication form via Apache never
worked, but I was wrong ... Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn´t.

I analyzed the Apache logs related to the successfull and unsuccessfull
attemps, and noticed a difference in the logs wich I think is the key to
the problem. Here are the logs (with the IP addresses faked):

Successfull attempt:

10.x.x.x - - "POST /intranetasp/include/login.asp HTTP/1.1" 302 121
"http://intranet/intranetasp/RH/Ccheque/default.asp?imInTab=CTCHQ&imInTabPai=RECHUM"
"Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0)"
10.x.x.x - - "GET
/intranetasp/RH/Ccheque/default.asp?imInTab=CTCHQ&imInTabPai=RECHUM
HTTP/1.1" 302 121
"http://intranet/intranetasp/RH/Ccheque/default.asp?imInTab=CTCHQ&imInTabPai=RECHUM"
"Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0)"
10.x.x.x - - "GET /intranetasp/RH/Ccheque/contr_selecao.asp HTTP/1.1" 200
16793
"http://intranet/intranetasp/RH/Ccheque/default.asp?imInTab=CTCHQ&imInTabPai=RECHUM"
"Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0)"

Unsuccessfull attempt:

10.x.x.x - - "POST /intranetasp/include/login.asp HTTP/1.1" 302 121
"http://intranet/intranetasp/RH/Ccheque/default.asp?imInTab=CTCHQ&imInTabPai=RECHUM"
"Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0)"
10.x.x.x - - "GET
/intranetasp/RH/Ccheque/default.asp?imInTab=CTCHQ&imInTabPai=RECHUM
HTTP/1.1" 200 10011
"http://intranet/intranetasp/RH/Ccheque/default.asp?imInTab=CTCHQ&imInTabPai=RECHUM"
"Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0)"

The difference is that after the POST method, the GET method returns a 302
status in the successfull attempt, and then makes an extra GET, while in
the unsuccessfull attempt the GET returns a 200 status, and no further GET
is made.

My ProxyPass directives are the follwoing:

ProxyPass /intranetasp/
http://10.y.y.y/intranetasp/
ProxyPassReverse /intranetasp/ http://10.y.y.y/intranetasp/

Any ideas?

Thanks again,
Carlos.
