Subject [users@httpd] [Apache 2.0.48]: mod_rewrite config problem
Date Thu, 08 Jan 2004 23:37:15 GMT

 I am trying since nights to get it up and running - it never really worked:
Pls have a look at the comment-lines of my httpd.conf, telling you what I
wanted to achieve on my local host xyz:

<VirtualHost *>

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteLog "/var/log/apache2/rewrite.log"
    RewriteLogLevel 0

# http://xyz should respond on Port 80 via apache2	-> OK. Done.

# http://xyz/mail should redirect to a IIS running on a Win2k box -> OK
# (although I somehow need to authenticate two times to get access to
# OutlookWeb Access)
# Any idea????
    RewriteRule ^/mail(.*) http://sbs/exchange/ [P,L]

# http://xyz/vdr should redirect to a adminservice running on local Port 8001.
# I get left.html but no other page (these are Perl-Scripts)
# Works so far, but all German Umlauts (ä,ü,ö) are displayed incorrectly
# can I somehow correct this as well? It displays ok if I connect directly to
# Port 8001 via WebBrowser.
#  RewriteRule ^/vdr/left.html http://xyz:8001/left.html [P,L]
    RewriteRule ^/vdr(.*) http://xyz:8001/$2 [P,L]

# http://xyz/webmin should redirect to webmin running on local Port 10000.
# Login works. But all other pages fail
    RewriteRule ^/webmin(.*) http://xyz:10000/ [P,L]

I've done various attempt with mod_proxy or mod_rewrite.
What is the better/best solution?

Thanks for any help.
