Hi Muchedzi!!

 The .htaccess entry is very simple. Please see following lines for .htaccess file

########################################################

AuthName "<realm name>"
AuthType Basic
AuthUserFile <user file location>

require valid-user

#################################################

But configuration of apache with this .htaccess file is important. And you must place the
.htaccess file in the directory which you want to protect.
