Yes.  One way is with mod_rewrite.  For example:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{LA-U:REMOTE_USER} (.+)
RewriteRule /protected/(.*) /protected/%1/$1

which will redirect access by the user "jason" from /protected/file to
