Well, the line of code that is giving us the IP of our proxy is this:
request.getHeader("Referer")
Where request is an instance of HttpServletRequest.

Unless Weblogic has borked the implementation of that method, or we are asking for the wrong
header info...

Are you *sure* you mean "HTTP_REFERER" and not "REMOTE_ADDRESS".  It would
be perfectly normal for the REMOTE_ADDRESS to be that of the proxy.
However, I have never heard of an umodified apache proxy stripping or
modifying the referer that the client is sending.
