Subject [users@httpd] ProxyPreserveHost directive
Date Thu, 16 Oct 2003 18:20:28 GMT
Are there any dangers in using 'ProxyPreserveHost On'
while reverse proxying like this:

client --> [proxy server box] --> [application
servers]

I'm not interested in doing named Virtual Hosting. I'd
like the server environment variable, HTTP_HOST, to
refer to the proxy server NOT the various application
boxes. More specifically, I'd like php's
$_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] variable on the application
server be the proxy server name.

Is there a better way besides hard coding it?

TIA - Paul
