Subject [users@httpd] Sub Domain setup in httpd.conf question
Date Tue, 23 Sep 2003 17:36:09 GMT
Hi,

I'm running apache 2.04.x and have a question about sub domain setup.

For a domain, www.example.com, I want to set up a sub domain
www.sales.example.com. The example.com site is running fine, it's IP is
using the server IP address. I tried setting up a second virtual host tag
in httpd.conf as the following:

<VirtualHost 123.456.789.123>
ServerName www.sales.example.com
DocumentRoot /home/uXn39jM/html
</VirtualHost>

and my primary domain tag is:

<VirtualHost 123.456.789.123>
ServerName example.com
DocumentRoot /home/uXn39jM/html
</VirtualHost>

On apache restart, sales.example.com will not resolve. What mistake did I
make in setting up my sub domain?

Thanks for any info anyone could share.
