Have a look at the manpages for "service" and "chkconfig", you'll soon know
enough...

Subject: [users@httpd] Start Apache on startup

I installed Apache 2.0.47 on a Red Hat 8 system from source. How can have
Apache start on startup and shutdown when the computer goes down?

Currently I have /etc/httpd/bin/apachectl start listed in /etc/rc.local but
I assume that it's a bad idea to just kill Apache everytime the computer
goes down...
