Subject [users@httpd] Proxy to an SSL server?
Date Wed, 10 Sep 2003 21:20:13 GMT
Hi All,

I've checked the archives, and both the Apache and mod_ssl FAQ's and have come up empty.

I am attempting to use Apache 1.3.28 as a reverse proxy to an SSL server, but I'm coming up
short somewhere along the
way. My desired configuration is this:

<non-SSL client>  -HTTP->  <my Apache proxy>  --HTTPS-->  <HTTPS server>

(yes, I know I'm circumventing security with my proxy, this is actually just a proof of concept
at this point for
testing...)

I tried the obvious:

<VirtualHost my.ip.address.here:80>
         ErrorLog logs/proxy.err
         CustomLog logs/proxy.log common
         ServerName proxy.mydomain.org
         ProxyRequests On
         ProxyPass / https://www.mydomain.org/
         ProxyPassReverse / https://www.mydomain.org/
         <Directory proxy:*>
             Order deny,allow
             #Deny from all
             Allow from all
         </Directory>
</VirtualHost>

...and I get a "403: Forbidden" response.

Anyone know how to do this?

Thanks in advance,
Josh
