I'd say just go with Apache since you already know it, as it can be made
smaller (if you build only the modules you need), is simple to set up, and
is one of the most secure web servers, AFAIK.  Think, if you're going to be
running CGI scripts on this server, do you want to take a chance on a
less-secure server?  If it's connected to the net, then assume that people's
bots WILL be scanning it for weaknesses to exploit.  Also remember the
server is only secure as the weakest link.  Is the system secure?  Are all
the other servers {FTP, etc.} secure?  Are the CGI-scripts secure?
