Subject [users@httpd] OTHER KIND OF LIMITATION
Date Fri, 05 Sep 2003 11:08:45 GMT
                Dear Sirs,

Seems to me that to limit the bandwidth using apache 2.0.44 is not so
easy... So, I'm thinking about to limit my bandwidth using another way...

My WebServer (Apache 2.0.44, in a linux box kernel 2.4.21) is connected to a
256 kbps link. And studing my weblogs (using webalizer), I discovered that
part (50%) of the use of my bandwidth are users downloading files like .EXE,
.MP3, .AVI, .PDF, .DOC, .ZIP, etc... The other part of the use of my
bandwidth are users downloading "www" files, like .HTM*, .PHP*, .GIF, .PNG,
.JPG, etc...

I would like to limit the bandwidth use for the first files types (.EXE,
.PDF, etc...) just to 15% of my bandwidth... These files are downloaded
through the Apache WebServer, so, I would like to know if Apache will limit
that for me, and how...

Thanks,

JM...
