Yes. I recently installed sendmail 8.11.7 on this box using the same gcc.
Also, several years ago, I installed Apache httpd v1.2.4 (which is currently
still running on the box).

I tend to think that this isn't a gcc problem. With the errors that I'm
getting about files not found in the /tmp directory, I wonder if there could
be an issue with the configure script or with a shell incompatibility.
